That answer would beHarvard University. Shocking, we know. With an admission rate of 5.79%, Harvard admitted 2,029 applicants out of 35,023. And which university in the Ivy League had the second lowest admission rate? That would be Yale University, with an admission rate of 6.72%. Out of 29,610 applicants to Yale, the university admitted 1,991. Yale also waitlisted 1,001 students. The 2013 Ivy League admissions statistics are in. Harvard University had the lowest admission rate among the Ivies. Next comes Columbia University. Columbia saw 33,531 applicants this year. And of those applicants, the university admitted 2,311 students. After Columbia comes Princeton University. Princeton admitted 7.29% of its applicant pool (which consisted of 26,498 applicants). So of those 26,498 students, they admitted 1,931 of them. Princeton also waitlisted 1,395 students. Brown University had an admission rate of 9.16%. Out of 28,919 applicants to Brown University, 2,649 earned admission. Next comes Dartmouth College, which admitted 10.05% of applicants this year. 22,416 students applied to Dartmouth, while 2,252 earned admission. The University of Pennsylvania had an admission rate of 12.10%. Of those students with applications into Penn (31,280 of them), 3,785 earned admission. 2,800 were placed on the waitlist. And, lastly, Cornell University had an admission rate of 15.15%. Of the 40,006 applicants, 6,062 earned admission. 3,142 were waitlisted. So Cornell had the most applicants of the Ivies (its a big school as compared to its peers), followed by Harvard, Columbia, Penn, Yale, Brown, Princeton, and Dartmouth. In that order.
